Permanent water disconnections
Our in-depth knowledge of the UK’s energy and utility market allows us to easily coordinate the implementation of water supply solutions you need with minimal fuss. If you require your supply to be disconnected permanently, GEC can liaise with the supplier to disconnect the supply at the public boundary.
We can then have all the relevant pipework excavated and removed. By disconnecting the supply at the boundary, it can potentially be reconnected at a later date. If the water supply connects to another property, the existing mains will need to be separated to avoid affecting any other mains supply. A full regulations inspection will be undertaken to determine the scope of work involved and to provide an accurate quote before any work commences.
Temporary water disconnections
A temporary disconnection can be undertaken when a water supply is not required for a period of time, this can be when a property is being renovated. Once any renovations have been completed your water supply can then be reconnected at a date of your choosing.
Mains water disconnection requirements
If you do require any type of disconnection we require the following information:
- The address of the property
- If there is a meter and if so the serial number of the meter
- If you are the owner of the property or have permission to perform a disconnection
- A date when you would like the work to commence
Is the property still occupied?
If a domestic property is still occupied, we can disconnect the water supply, but you’ll need to provide a date to let us know when the property will be empty. The registered owner will need to provide authorisation for a permanent disconnection in writing.
